Congratulations to our Varsity Girls team this afternoon in our debut against Tampa Prep at SPTC. Our girls won this afternoon 5-2! It was such a close match for our number 3 through 5 girls singles matches. Morgan took her #1 victory against Kelly P. 8-1; Kathryn defeated a newcomer to the Tampa team…Olivia M…beating her 8-3. It was much closer for Sydney K and Hannah S in their matches. They were neck and neck against their opponents. They both lost their matches today 7-9! They were both nail-biters. It was the same for Evie S. in the #5 singles slot. She beat her opponent after being down and came back to win 8-6! So we only needed one doubles match to secure the victory. Morgan and Kathryn in the #1 doubles match defeated their opponents 8-3 in a terrific match. Match of the day goes to Hannah S. and Caitlin S. for coming back from 2-7 to win it 9-7! Way to go girls! You were awesome!!
Not to be outdone, the Boys Varsity Team kicked off their season in an impressive fashion. The boys won all seven of their matches against a tough Tampa Prep Team. It has been a long while since we had such a lopsided win against our storied rival form across the bay. The boys match of the day belonged to Logan E. who won his first match as a varsity tennis player 8-6. Our returning players played great and displayed confidence in their victory.
